Ade & Company Inc. conducts various searches relating to Patents and Designs using databases of Canadian Patents and Pending Applications, United States Patents and Pending Applications, PCT International Patent Applications, European Patents and Pending Applications, and others. The following are examples of some of the searching services we provide:
Patentability Search: A search of various databases for patents and published applications which may be relevant to the patentability of your invention.
Patent Infringement Search: A search of the relevant patent databases for issued patents having claims that may be infringed by the manufacture, use or sale of a given product or process.
Patent Validity Search: A search of various patent databases for patents or prior publications relevant to the validity of a given patent.
Patent Landscape: A search of patents associated with a particular industry or field.
Applicant/Assignee Search: A search of patents associated with a particular individual or organization.

Patent & Design Preparation, Filing, and Prosecution
As a firm of Patent Agents, Ade & Company Inc. specializes in the preparation and filing of patent applications and subsequent prosecution of applications to obtain the best-issued patents possible for our clients.
It is our usual practice that only one Agent is responsible for your application from start to finish including personally writing all necessary material and personally communicating directly with both the US and Canadian Patent Offices so that there is no duplication with other persons. This has further benefits of avoiding communication errors and minimizing unnecessary costs.
We are pleased to work with and have considerable experience with a wide range of clients including individuals and small companies desiring assistance in minimizing application costs as well as larger companies desiring ongoing intellectual property business advice and assistance in the management of larger patent portfolios.
Patent and Design Post Grant Services
Ade & Company Inc. has considerable experience in dealing with various patent matters which may arise after a patent has issued, including amendments after issuance and Opposition proceedings. In particular, Ade & Company Inc. provides advice and representation to clients in Re-Examination or Re-Issue proceedings.
Patent and Design Support Services
Ade & Company has an extensive database system dedicated to the docketing and payment of patent maintenance fees on various patents and design matters in the USA and Canada. We attend to payment of maintenance fees at the Canadian and United States Patent Office directly to avoid the unnecessary costs of hiring any intermediate firms and to avoid any miscommunications by having unnecessary persons involved. Accordingly, we have found our rates to be often much less than many of our competitors.
Furthermore, Ade & Company Inc. has resources to obtain copies of patent documents from many countries, including copies of Patents, Designs, Pending Applications, File Histories, and Certified Copies for priority purposes.
Intellectual Property Agreements
Ade & Company Inc. frequently assists clients in registering various types of intellectual property agreements, e.g. assignments, directly at either of the Canadian or the United States Patent Office. We also have several prepared agreements available for use by our clients.

Patentability Opinion: an opinion on the patentability of an invention in consideration of any prior patents, published applications, and other prior art which may be relevant.
Patent Infringement Opinion: an opinion to determine if the manufacture, use or sale of a given product or process falls within the scope of the claims of a patent.
Design Around Opinion: an opinion to determine if the manufacture, use or sale of a given product or process is sufficiently distinguished from any claims of a patent which may be valid so as to avoid infringement.
Validity Opinion: an opinion of the validity of the claims of a patent in consideration of any prior patents, published applications and other prior art which may be relevant.
Design Registerability Opinion: an opinion on the possibility of registering Design Protection on a design in consideration of any prior registered designs, published applications and other prior art which may be relevant.
