Adrian Battison obtained a B.Sc. (Hons) in Physics from Liverpool University England in 1970 and commenced training in London England, becoming a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Agents (UK) in 1975 and a European patent attorney. From 1975 to 1982 he was Patent and Licensing Manager for a British engineering company obtaining extensive knowledge in many countries of patent litigation procedures and of obtaining and managing patents in mechanical engineering. Mr. Battison joined Ade & Company in 1982 and completed the Canadian patent agents exams in 1984 becoming a registered Canadian patent agent and a registered US Patent Agent. Since 1982 he has been extensively involved in obtaining Canadian and US Patents for clients in Canada and USA and has experience in many fields including IT, telecommunications, electronics, electrical engineering, oil and gas technology, magnetic resonance imaging, agricultural engineering, automotive engineering, paper processing and general mechanical engineering.

Mike Williams graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1988 with the degree Bachelor of Science, Genetics (Honours) and graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas with a Doctorate in Biochemistry and Biophysics in 1994. Following graduation, Mike was employed as a Post-Doctoral Fellow with the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. In 1996, Mike joined Ade & Company as a technical consultant and successfully completed the Canadian Patent Agent examination, so as to become a registered Patent Agent in Canada and USA in 1998. Mike's area of practice is biotechnology and he has prepared and successfully prosecuted patent applications in USA, Canada and foreign countries for pharmaceutical compounds, nutraceuticals, lotions, chemical compositions, medical devices, diagnostic methods and recombinant DNA patents.
Ryan W. Dupuis (Patent Agent)

Ryan Dupuis graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1998 with the degree Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Later that year, he joined Ade & Company as a technical consultant. Upon successfully completing the Canadian Patent Agent's examination in 2000, Ryan became a registered Patent Agent in both Canada and the United States. In his primary area of practice of Mechanical Engineering, Ryan has prepared and prosecuted patent applications for a wide range of clients including individuals and companies involving inventions in agriculture, manufacturing, mining, oil production, construction, materials handling, power generation and machinery.
Kyle Satterthwaite (Patent Agent)

Kyle Satterthwaite graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2002 with the degree Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Following graduation, Kyle was employed in the manufacturing industry before joining Ade & Company in 2005 as a technical assistant. After successfully completing the Canadian patent Agent’s examination in 2007, Kyle became a registered Patent Agent in both Canada and the United States. Kyle has experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in a variety of fields, including such mechanical fields as gas and oil production, agriculture, transportation and manufacturing.
Pat Cheater
Pat Cheater manages accounting and has been an employee of the firm since 1991.
Doris Jones
Doris Jones manages the maintenance fee section and the database containing the maintenance fee records. Doris also manages foreign filing functions and is responsible for all foreign filing formalities. Doris has been an employee since 1985.
Lynn Leatherdale
Lynn Leatherdale manages the Canadian and US patent filing section and looks after all formalities for those applications. Lynn has worked for Ade & Company since 1967 and started with the founder of the firm, Stanley Ade.
